Three Partners from Testone, Marshall & Discenza, CPAs (TMD) - Chris Anderson, Paula Deckman and John Marshall - were delegates to the recent Region 4 Partner Meeting of CPAmerica International. The organization is an exclusive association of major independent accounting firms of which TMD is a member.
Held in Philadelphia, Pa., the meeting brought together partners from 14 CPAmerica member firms from across CPAmerica's Region 4, which is comprised of the states of Connecticut, Delaware, Maine, Massachusetts, Maryland, New Jersey, New York, New Hampshire, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Vermont, Virginia and West Virginia.
The meeting opened with Sam Allred of Upstream Academy presenting on partner evaluation and goal setting. Topics addressed during the meeting included succession planning, valuing your accounting firm, growing your firm through mergers and acquisitions; joint ventures and member sharing by industry specialty. CPAmerica president Alan Deichler provided attendees with an update on CPAmerica.
