Testone, Marshall & Discenza, CPAs (TMD) was founded December 1, 1976 at 614 North Salina St., Syracuse, NY with three employees. In 1986, we grew to 15 employees and since that time have enjoyed steady growth. Today TMD is a multi-million service organization with eight partners, 60 employees and more than 1,000 clients.
We offer a full range of accounting and consulting services, including technology services through TMD Technology & Consulting, and financial services through TMD Financial Strategies and have developed several specialty niches including Construction, Automobile Dealerships, and Not-for-Profit/Government. TMD's success has hinged on the expertise and experience of our professional staff, and our commitment to doing business locally and personally while offering our clients access to global resources through our exclusive membership to CPAmerica International.
We are proud of the many awards we have received for our approach to business, community service and employment practices over the years including: Greater Syracuse Chamber of Commerce Business of the Year Award for Community Involvement; New York State Accountant Advocate of the Year Award from the Small Business Administration; Small Business Excellence Award from the Small Business Administration; and the first ever Donlon Award from Success by Six, a United Way Agency, for best workplace policies. In 2004, having outgrown our former office space at 620 Erie Boulevard West, where we were the original tenant, TMD moved to The Foundry at Franklin Square. TMD's rehabilitation efforts saved the circa 1903 manufacturing facility and turned a community liability into an asset. We are an owner and were the first tenant in the refurbished building.
TMD supports a variety of local organizations, including Make-a-Wish, Hospice of Central New York, United Way and the Juvenile Diabetes Research Fund. In the year 2005 alone, TMD employees volunteered more than 3200 hours of their time to area non-profits.
